"SHALIMAR" concerns belong to the Sajnani family which is in the food business in Hyderabad since the beginning of the 19th Century. Late Sri Thakurdas Sajnani migrated from Sindh, Pakistan in the year 1905 and started a hotel business namely "SHANKER SHER HOTEL" at Afzalgunj, Hyderabad. Late Sri. Parmanand Sajnani continued the business. It was a 24-hour hotel with absolutely no shutters to close. It was frequented by the Royal families also in the Nizam's regime. It continued its business till the year 2000 and later converted in a complex. It is

a landmark till today. In 1982, the third generation successor Late Sri Kishanchand Sajnani opened "SHALIMAR ICE CREAMS & SWEETS" in Kothi, and was continued by the fourth generation Sucessor Mr. Sanjay Sajnani. The place went on to become a favourite of the vegetarian taste lovers in Hyderabad and it created records in sales for 20 years. Due to the Tenancy problems it was closed in 2002. Since then, "SHALIMAR CATERERS" continued to do the food business. The fifth generation Mr. Akash Sajnani started a Biscuit Factory namely "SHALIMAR FOODS" in Rasoolpura Industrial Area, Begumpet, Secunderabad. It is presently selling its Products like "Fruit Biscuits", "Cashew Biscuits", "Osmania Biscuits" etc through Retail Chains like Aditya Birla More, Walmart India, RPG Spencers, Future Value Retail etc in the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, etc and is expanding its reach across India. "BISCUITWAALA" in Sindhi Colony, P.G. Road, Secunderabad is their Retail outlet, famous for its Pure Vegetarian eggless products, which sells Top Quality Biscuits, Cakes, Pav Bhaji, Pizzas, Pasta, Pani Puri, Desserts, etc.
